BELLEVILLE, Ill (KMOX) - A Metro East drive-in movie theater says it will be opening its lot to customers next month, for the first time since stay-at-home orders were given in Illinois.
Skyview Drive-In in Belleville is going to begin showing movies on May 1. The theater says it's been working with the health department and on Tuesday afternoon announced the official reopening date.
To keep to the CDC's guidelines of social distancing, cars will be parked at a "safe distance" with only one vehicle between poles instead of two like usual. They say people will be allowed out of their cars to sit in lawn chairs.
The theatre says it will not open the women's bathroom "since it so crowded" and only four people will be allowed in the men's room at a time. They have 16 porta-potties and say they will clean them every fifteen minutes.
Here is the schedule for May 1-7:
Screen #1 - The Goonies PG 8:15 and Beetlejuice PG 10:20Screen #2 - Grease PG13 8:15 and Ferris Buehler's Day Off PG13 10:15
