ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOX) — One of the oldest parts of Saint Charles is getting revitalized.
"Frenchtown is going to be 'hip' -- kind of edgy and artsy," City mayor Dan Borgmeyer said.
That includes placing old shipping containers along a stretch oif Frenchtown and then converting them into businesses.

Borgmeyer says the goal is to break ground by the end of the year and have things finished in less than five years. He says some big-time developers are committed, but he wants small-time entrepreneurs, too.
His hope is that millennials will take advantage of the city's facade grant program and fix-up some of the old houses in Frenchtown to move there.
The program has been increased from $50,000 to $250,000.
