ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The personal fact that St. Louis Blues goalie Jordan Binnington "never skipped a day of school," is going to be proudly displayed for students, says Long International Middle School principal Benicia Nanez-Hunt.
The Stanley Cup Champion goalie told students about his great attendance, which garnered small applause from teachers in the back of the school gymnasium, Thursday morning.
He participated in a trivia challenge with the students and signed some NHL All-Star Game and Blues hats and hockey sticks.
He'll be participating in this weekend NHL All-Star Skills Competition on Friday night and the NHL All-Star Game on Saturday, hosted at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis.
"I try to listen to advice from mentors or people who have kind of been involved with this sort of thing and they just keep telling me to take it all in and enjoy it and I wanted to deserve to be here and I'm proud of that," Binnington says.
