ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Paul DeJong says they're going to do it "one shovel at a time, one pitch at a time." He says they want to "bury teams."
The St. Louis Cardinals did that to the Chicago Cubs, beating them five times in seven games during the last two weekends of the regular season. Now St. Louis looks to do it to the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS which begins Thursday afternoon.
Even as the champagne and beer poured down the faces of Cardinals players and coaches in the celebration of winning the 2019 NL Central Division, the focus was on what's next. From manager Mike Shildt's pre-pop speech to what our Chris Hrabe heard from the likes of DeJong, Kolten Wong, Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina.
See what they had to say in the video above.
First pitch of Game 1 is at 4:02 p.m. and KMOX's pregame coverage will begin at 2:30.
