(KMOX) - CDC director Dr. Robert Redfield clarifies remarks he made earlier in the week suggesting we will see a resurgence of coronavirus this winter and it will be worse because it will be mixed in with the flu season. He wants people to understand the need for getting a flu shot this fall. SLU Care general internist at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital Dr. Fred Buckhold agrees.
He says the more of us who take precautionary steps against the flu, the fewer of us will have those symptoms to confuse with coronavirus symptoms. And Dr. Buckhold says both illnesses have the ability to overwhelm the healthcare system, and if they happen at the same time, it could be really bad.
That's why getting a flu shot is so needed.
