DE SOTO (KMOX) -- A De Soto man has been arrested and charged in connection with a Friday road rage incident that saw the victim airlifted to a hospital in serious condition. Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak says it happened around 7:40 Friday night near Roberts and Spring Drives in De Soto. The victim and his girlfriend were on an ATV -- it's unclear what led to the verbal altercation between him and 36-year-old Mark Casteel. But Casteel allegedly pushed both of them off the ATV, then began punching the man and eventually used a sharp object to lacerate the victim's neck -- police suspect it was a knife but couldn't definitively say. Casteel has been charged with one count each of armed criminal action and first degree assault -- he's being held on a $500,000 cash only bond.© 2020 KMOX (Entercom).
