ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — Those electric scooters now have a speed limit in Forest Park. Former Alderman and current Transportation Policy Planner for the City of St. Louis, Scott Ogilvie, announced on Twitter the city has set a 10 MPH limit for those Lime, Bird, and Spin scooters within the boundaries of Forest Park.

The City of St. Louis has instituted a 10 mph speed zone for e-scooters within the boundaries of Forest Park to minimize conflicts on the shared-use path system. Expect e-scooters to power down a bit once you have entered the park. Be courteous to other trail users!

— Scott Ogilvie (@ScottOgilvieSTL) August 21, 2019  This is so they don't cause issues on the shared-use bike paths around the park. There won't be speed limit signs or speedometers, though. Instead, the scooters will be powered down a little once GPS picks up they're in Forest Park.
