ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - If her life sounds like it ought to be a movie, Christine Clarity McDonald agrees.
A runaway from a broken home, forced into prostitution, McDonald says she's been drugged, beaten, branded, attacked by rats, left for dead in a shallow grave, and forced to decide whether she could pull the trigger on a man who threatened to kill her.
Fifteen years after she escaped that life, McDonald is now working as an advocate for victims of human trafficking, and promoting a film project about her life, based on her book, "Cry Purple."
McDonald sat down with KMOX to describe all she's been through.
