IMPERIAL (KMOX) -- An investigation is underway after a taxi driver was carjacked and stabbed by a passenger Tuesday night.The Jefferson County Sheriff's Dept. says the taxi picked up a woman on Tesson Ferry in St. Louis County. She asked for a ride to Windermere Drive in Imperial and when they pulled up near the intersection of Windermere and Ferris Court, she allegedly stabbed the driver and took the car.Officials found the car in south St. Louis County, but said the woman remains on the loose.Police say the woman was inside the Dierbergs near Mercy Hospital South shortly before she requested the cab -- that's where the surveillance photo comes from.Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff's Dept. at 636-797-5515 -- that gets you to the detective bureau.© 2020 KMOX (Entercom).
