JEFFERSON CITY (KMOX) - You won't see Kanye West's name on your ballot in Missouri this November. That's because the celebrity didn't have enough valid signatures on his petition to be included on the presidential ballot, according to Missouri's Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft.

He tweeted the documents that were sent to West informing the 21-time GRAMMYs winner that he was about 3,500 signatures short of the 10,000 needed for someone without a major party to get on the ballot.

Today our office issued a letter to Kanye West informing him of the insufficiency of his independent candidate nomination petition for President. The petition was determined to have 6,557 valid signatures of the required 10,000. pic.twitter.com/vxOSk8WCD3

The petitions for West had more than 5,000 invalid signatures, however, he did have valid signatures from more than half of the state's 116 local jurisdictions.

West has qualified to be on the ballot in Arkansas, Colorado, Oklahoma and Utah, according to the Associated Press.

The 43-year-old announced his presidential campaign in July, saying he's seeking the nation's highest office on a ticket he calls the "Birthday Party."

In his native state of Illinois, he was removed from the November ballot after the Illinois State Board of Elections says he missed the deadline to file the necessary paperwork.
