ST. LOUIS (KMOX)- You won't need a fishing permit in Missouri starting Friday.

Although many have been cooped up in their homes in order to follow the new "stay at home order", the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) says they're trying to encourage Missourians to get out into nature amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In order to encourage this behavior, the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Missouri Conservation Commission is temporarily waiving the permit requirements from March 27 through April 15.

The waiver of fishing permits will only run through April 15, so click here for more details of how you can partake in this rare, quarantine-friendly activity.
