BALLWIN (KMOX) -- St. Louis County Executive Sam Page maintains the county health department repeatedly told the family of a 20-year-old woman who presumptively tested positive for COVID-19 to self quarantine -- and now the county executive says he wants to move on."This is the first time we've heard that someone didn't understand this clearly," Page told reporters at a Monday news conference.

But Sunday, when it became apparent the patient's father took her younger sister to Villa Duchesne's father-daughter dance at the Ritz-Carlton Saturday night, Page said a court ordered quarantine would be imposed."[The family] is not symptomatic," said St. Louis County Public Health Department co-director Spring Schmidt. "The testing currently is not able to rule out COVID unless you're symptomatic."The Ladue family has now retained an attorney, Neil Bruntrager, who claims the county never advised the entire family to self quarantine -- only the woman who presumptively tested positive. Page was asked about several reports that the family hasn't been abiding by the self quarantine protocol -- including reports the younger daughter went to school both Thursday and Friday, the father and younger daughter went to a house party before the Saturday dance and the father went to a Ladue coffee shop on Saturday... despite the county's initial assertion that officials asked for the self quarantine Thursday."We have no indication from anyone in the community, to this date, that after this family received notice of a positive test result, that they didn't comply with our quarantine request," Page said. The presumptive positive test came in Saturday.Page says disparaging remarks have been made againbst the family on social media -- he says while there was a lapse in judgement on the part of the family, "... it's done, we're reacting to it, we're chasing down the context in a very professional way."
