All of our players and coaches are safe. We appreciate the concern. Unfortunate that such a great event was ruined because of the actions of a few. Again, thank you to everyone who has reached out to offer support.

#FHNcommunity all of our football players are safe. We had the early session at the Parkway North jamboree. Thank you coaches, administrators and district office for all of your communication.

Parkway superintendent Dr. Keith Marty, in a letter to district stakeholders posted to social media on Sunday, writes that he's coodinating on the investigation with superintendents overseeing the seven other high schools involved with the event.

"Our first concern right now is for our students and staff returning to school," he wrote. "District counselors, social workers, and administrators will be at North High and our schools in the North area on Monday morning. We will stay as long as it takes."

Some ran for safety after they heard a gunshot just after 8 p.m. Friday.

Nobody was struck by a bullet or injured.

Here’s some footage of what I captured at Parkway North tonight in a “large disturbance” where apparently there were “shots fired.” pic.twitter.com/GPM6DeA3hR

Sobering night. Left Parkway North after the first session of games which my nephew played in. Missed all the craziness that occurred. And people injured in shootings at Soldan tonight, including kids. I’m heartbroken tonight.

Marty says any student involved will be disciplined, but asks for help filling in the details on what happened. The number to call with information is 314-415-SAFE.

St. Louis County police are also investigating.

The superintendent closed his letter with a call to "take a stand" against violence.

"I understand and share the real fear and concern that this event brought into our community. We will need your help as we move forward together," Marty wrote.
