FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOX) updated Monday 4:20 p.m. — Police pulled the body of a 15-year-old boy from Hazelwood out of Coldwater Creek in Florissant Monday afternoon.
Florissant Police Chief Timothy Fagan said the boy was a part of a group of teenagers in a stolen car Saturday night that police had pursued in this area. The teens then got out and scattered. Several people were taken into custody, however, the 15-year-old was not one of those people.
Sunday, Fagan said the family of the boy who had been missing for several hours now came to the police department to report that they believed their son may have been in that car and ran into the creek.
His body was recovered today at Coldwater Creek that runs under Washington Avenue just south of Lindbergh in Florissant. The marine unit task force was there along with scuba divers scanning the 8 to 12-foot depths.
Police had not initially said what led them to the search, but there was an indication that there might have been a missing person reported.
