St. Louis County Police confirm body found in Lincoln County is Jennifer Rothwell

CLAYTON, Mo. (KMOX) — The body found by St. Louis County investigators in Lincoln County is indeed Jennifer Rothwell's.

Police positively identified her body Wednesday morning, over 24-hours after her body was found in the woods off Highway 61 near Cuivre River State Park late Monday night. Police Chief Jon Belmar told the media early Tuesday morning that investigators believed the body was Rothwell's, but a medical examiner needed to confirm that.

Police have not released how she died. Police discovered large bloodstains were found at the home she shared with her husband, 28-year-old Beau Rothwell, on Northwinds Drive in west St. Louis County.

Beginning around 5:15 p.m. Monday, detectives from the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons, the Special Response Unit, the Metro Air Support Unit, amongst others, initiated a search of the area off the roadway of US 61, just north of KK.

Beau Rothwell remains in custody at St. Louis County Jail, charged with Second Degree Murde and Tampering With Evidence. Police say he told officers where her body was in Lincoln County.

Jennifer Rothwell was reported missing by her husband Beau at about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, November 12th.
