CLAYTON, Mo. (KMOX) — One Saint Louis County Councilman is questioning if all the Proposition P money has been spent. And Tim Fitch suggests collective bargaining with civilian police employees is being held up by the County Executive because Prop P funds are expended.
The County Executive tells KMOX it is a limited resource.
"We're looking closely at this," Sam Page says. "And there have been folks that have received a raise and want another raise...we'll consider it very thoughtfully."
Voters approved Proposition P back in 2017 to pay for police raises, body cameras and public safety needs.
When asked if there are now two officers assigned to one patrol car, Page says in some settings they may.
"I don't know if that's been implemented as fully as (Fitch) would like," Page told KMOX. "Over the past months, we've been working very hard on getting the (police body) cameras implemented."
