RECALL: Schnucks says some meat at Town & Country store could contain metal shavings

TOWN AND COUNTY, Mo (KMOX) - Schnucks announced it is voluntarily recalling all fresh ground beef purchased at its Town and Country location that was sold Saturday, March 14 and has a sell-by date of March 15.

Schnucks Markets, Inc. says the product may contain metal shavings due to an equipment malfunction. The Town & County store is located at 1060 Woods Mill Road (63017).

Customers who purchased Schnucks fresh ground beef with a sell-by date of March 15, 2020 should return the product to the store for a full refund or exchange.  

To date, there have been no reported illnesses or injuries and this is an isolated incident that does not affect any other stores. Customers with questions may contact the Schnucks Customer Care team at 314-994-4400 or 1-800-264-4400.

Hours change at Schnucks due to coronavirus

All but four Schnucks locations in the St. Louis metropolitan area will now be open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Culinaria in downtown will now be open only Monday Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Three locations will close at 10 p.m. Monday and are tentatively set to reopen at 6 a.m. Thursday. Those stores are Shrewsbury on Chippewa, Lemay Ferry and Oakwood in Alton will.
