ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A school bus with 13 students on board was run into by a vehicle involved in a shooting incident in North St. Louis, Friday afternoon. One woman in the vehicle that ran into the bus was shot, but police say no one who was on the bus was shot.

The incident happened at Floy and Leonora Avenues in the Walnut Park West neighborhood as the bus was transporting 13 students from KIPP St. Louis Middle School, says St. Louis Metropolitan Capt. Perri Johnson. The driver of the bus was cut on the chin, a 20-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle that hit the bus was shot in the leg and the passenger in her vehicle, a 22-year-old man, has a broken arm, Johnson says.

Police say the students were evaluated for minor injuries from the accident. Police say parents were called and many have picked up their children from the scene.

Authorities at the scene are investigating, but don't believe the bus was an intended target.

A KIPP spokeswoman tells KMOX, they will be releasing a statement with more information later today.

This is a breaking news story that will be updated.
