MASCOUTAH (KMOX) -- Scott Air Force Base has increased its Health Protection Condtion (HPCON) from Alpha to Bravo. The move comes after a person tested positive for a non-travel related case of COVID-19. The person is at a local hospital, not on base, and the patient is not related to Scott. However, Bravo is instituted when there is an increased exposure risk. The Air Force, in a release says the alert includes "restricting movement of personnel and access to the installation as necessary and implementing quarantine or isolation procedures for affected individuals."It's unclear how specifically the change would affect civilians or other military personnel with business on base.© 2020 KMOX (Entercom).
