Data center dispute spawns St. Charles citizens' group

ST. CHARLES, MO (KMOX) - Community fights over data centers appear to be getting more people involved in local government. "The data center issue is kind of what threw me into local politics and civic engagement," explains Scott Stratton-Henderson, Founder and President of Stewards of St. Charles. It's a new non-profit. Instead of activism, he wants it to be a vehicle for bringing practical solutions to city leaders.

Stratton-Henderson is a college student who says he wants to secure a future for the community he grew up and loves. "The more and more I pay attention the more I realize that we need a little bit more of an effort as a community to work with the council and the Mayor on certain things." He says he wants Stewards of St. Charles to bring solutions, "what we don't want to be is another loud activist group."
