(ST. LOUIS) KMOX- The St. Louis County Executive and the Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force are going over business guidelines and whether any changes need to be made. An announcement is expected Friday morning during Dr. Sam Page's Facebook Live at 8:30 a.m.
Dr. Page says there are several reasons cases are spiking right now. He says labs are backed up and so it can take up to 10 days to get results from COVID-19 tests.
Another reason is youth and adult sports, according to Page.
"We know gatherings of young people and adults around youth sports are the primary source of spread in the community," Page says. "We're looking at those guidelines now and we're going to make a decision on whether or not youth and adult sports guidelines need to be adjusted. We'll know more about that on Friday."

Page doesn't want to have to rollback guidelines, which are set now at 50% capacity for businesses. He said he's not considering, at all, expanding that capacity limit.

On Tuesday, St. Louis County announced an additional 233 positive cases of COVID-19. That was the second-highest 24-hour total since the start of the pandemic.
MASKS
St. Louis County is getting complaints from customers and businesses with concerns that mask guidelines aren't being followed.
According to Page, you need a mask when...
- you go into a business or public transportation
- you work in an office or job where you work in close contact with others
- you are seated in an indoor restaurant or bar and not eating
- you go into someone's home for maintenance or repair work
- you are outside and can't socially distance from others
