As of Wednesday afternoon, there are now 117 people infected with Cyclospora in Saint Louis County.
Eleven of them were confirmed Tuesday night.
Saint Louis County Health Director Kanika Cunningham says once a lab test confirms a person has Cyclospora, the state notifies the health departments where the case is.
"As a local health department we are responsible for carrying out the investigation," Cunningham tells KMOX's Maria Keena.
Keena asked, "Is there any indication yet where this is coming from here?"
"So, what we're seeing, the majority of the people it's tied back to eating some type of lettuce and unfortunately it is at Taco Bell. We've seen maybe a few cases like Walmart but for the most part the majority of it is Taco Bell," Cunningham replied.
It is the job of each area's health department to contact people who are sick.
