ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Hacienda Mexican Restaurant is taking its food and fun to homebound customers in the St. Louisa rea.

What started with an invitation from one neighborhood for a food truck to stop by has turned into a series of fiestas around town.

Manager Lucy Plattner says it was such a hit with the first neighborhood, they decided to put photos on social media and soon they were booked through mid-June with up to three stops per day.

She says while neighbors gather to pick up the food they also practice social distancing by keeping customers in separate lines and employees wearing protective gloves.

She says starting on May 5 – Cinco de Mayo – they'll add two more trucks that will deliver margaritas, chips and salsa.

The popularity of it has allowed Hacienda to call some of its employees back to work.
