EUREKA, Mo (KMOX) - Police in the St. Louis area responded to an emergency call from a woman who was surprised by a snake inside her car. Then the police had to call for help too.
Eureka Police responded to a woman who, "called hysterically needing help" while she was on Interstate-44. One of the responding officers wasn't quite ready for it either.
"We are here to help with many problems. I'm not a snake kind of guy. Good thing other officers are," a Facebook post by one of the officers read.
Police say the snake worked its way through the driver compartment and was found coiled up under the floor mat.
The responding officers couldn't get the snake out, so at the owner's request, they called for a tow truck to take the car. The plan was to, "wait for the little guy to show himself and hopefully leave the vehicle peacefully."
When the photo and story was posted on Facebook, it got some pretty funny comments from followers.
One woman said: "Time for a new car."
And may have been an even bigger mess inside the car if it had happened to this person: "On top of fire dept and police, I'd need a new change of pants too."
