NFL's Super Bowl Logos Aren't Nearly as Fun as They Used to Be

Since 2011 the NFL has made dozens of new rules, moved franchises to new cities and nearly doubled its annual revenue. But something it hasn't changed much is the Super Bowl logo. 

The 2010 Super Bowl (2009-10 season) was the last time the NFL didn't use its Lombardi trophy has the centerpiece of its logo to represent that year's championship game. The logos used to be fun, colorful and sometimes reflect its host city with a creative use roman numerals to represent which number Super Bowl it was. 

For this decade, we've seen the same silver trophy, seemingly cemented directly in the middle of the logo, with gray roman numerals. The only thing different about Super Bowl 50 three years ago was the NFL not using romal numerals and made the No. 50 gold.
