Police rescue child from hot car in O'Fallon, Missouri

O'FALLON, Mo. (KMOX) — A child has been rescued from a hot car in O'Fallon, Missouri. 

Police say the 2-year-old was left in a vehicle for nearly six hours today in the 100 block of Sheriff Dierker Drive.

A family member then drove to the overflow lot near Car Shield Field on TR Hughes where the child was found at about 1:40 p.m.

The child was awake and alert when taken to a hospital for observation. Police say the familiy member has been taken into custody.
