BATH, Ill. (KMOX) — Flooding along the Illinois River has claimed another victim – the annual Redneck Fishing Tournament in Bath, Ill.

The annual event where participants snatch Asian Carp out of the air with a net, has been held for 14 years hoping to eradicate the invasive fish that leap out of the water when spooked by passing boats.

They plan to focus efforts on 2020, with sponsorships and raffles will be carried over for next year when the tournament returns, DeFord said.
