ST. LOUIS. (KMOX) — Crews will be sandbagging the south side of the River Des Peres Thursday as flood waters continue to rise.
MoDOT has closed the northbound Interstate 55 exit at Carondelet Blvd./River City Blvd. This will allow crews to work along Carondelet between I-55 and Morganford Rd.
Larry Warner lives across the River Des Peres. He tells KMOX's Brian Kelly he's preparing for the worst.
"We've already gotten everything off the basement floor that we can get up."
Diane Chouinard also lives across the street. How is she feeling?
"Panicky! I don't sleep at night, not knowing if it's going to hold or not."
She also says that she's confident that we learned some important lessons from the Flood of 93, and she's also confident her home will stay dry.
