Collinsville, IL (KMOX) - With news that nearly a dozen residents of a northern Illinois nursing home have COVID-19, one company is reducing gatherings in its facilities.

Cedarhurst Senior Living made the announcement to residents and families Wednesday morning, following guidance from the Ilinois Department of Public Health.   The Department is asking long-term care facilities to cancel group activities and communal dining.

Cedarhurst says going forward residents will be served meals in their rooms.  The only exception would be residents who need special assistance, they would be seated at least six feet apart.
