ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — A southwest St. Louis bridge is closed.
Crews shut-down the Columbia Avenue bridge, just east of its intersection with Southwest Avenue.Mayor Lyda Krewson tweeted, "they don't last forever", and that safety concerns are too serious to keep it open.
This was one of several bridges deemed structurally deficient in the City.Krewson adds they plan to replace both the Columbia and Southwest bridges in 3-to-5 years, pending federally matched money.
