ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) - St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger is under federal investigation in connection with county contracts.

KMOX's Kevin Killeen was at Stenger's Clayton office Monday morning. The county executive was not there, his office saying he was out on previous appointments.

A spokesman for Stenger says they will fully cooperate with the federal investigation.

A federal grand jury issued a subpeona late last week asking for all county contracts PLUS Stenger's call history, texts and emails with current and former county employees regarding said contracts. It also demands recordings and minutes from council meetings and hearings dating to 2015.

Stenger emailed KMOX a written statement saying, "With respect to the issuance of a subpoena to County government, we intend to provide all of the information requested and cooperate fully.”
