ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — Are you planning a summer vacation? KMOX's Carol Daniel talked with a travel advisor on what he does for his clients.
He puts together what he describes as "complicated itineraries."
"There'll be two people in San Francisco and two people in St. Louis and two people in Chicago and two people in New York, and they'll call to say 'Joe, coordinate all of that for us. Get us on flights that land at the same time where we're going, coordinate all of it for us, book our hotel, and maybe a couple of activities while we're there."
If you haven't taken a cruise in awhile or you've never been on one, Lang says now might be the time for a second glance.
In the past, vacationers took a cruise in order to eat, shop, gamble, or see a show. Now, he says travelers can still do that and much, much more.
For example, "a cruise ship right now has a go-cart track at the top of the ship. Another ship coming out in 2020 is going to have a roller coaster wrapping around the top of the cruise ship."
The favorite leisure travel destination for St. Louisans, he says, is Cancun.
However, Lang notes that 80-percent of his business comes from outside the region. The hot spots for those customers are Israel and South Africa.
