ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — If you've been contemplating adopting a furry friend lately, August might be the month to do it.

Local animal shelter Stray Rescue of St. Louis recently revealed that this month, adoption fees for dogs and cats older than 6 months have been covered thanks to a donation from Raising Cane's.

Stray Rescue posted the annoucement last week on Instagram saying, "They heard that we are full to the brim and have stepped up to the plate! They are covering adoption fees for dogs and cats over 6 months old for the entire month of August so we can keep rescuing!!!"

We have the greatest news to share!!! Todd Graves, Founder of @raisingcanes Chicken Fingers and big-time animal lover, is in town learning all about Stray Rescue! They heard that we are full to the brim and have stepped up to the plate! They are covering adoption fees for dogs and cats over 6 months old for the entire month of August so we can keep rescuing!!! Thank you Raising Cane's! Strayrescue.org
