Accuweather Meteorologist Dean DeVore told KMOX's Total Information A.M. this is an unpredictable weather pattern we're in. Here's a portion of his conversation:
Here's Dean's forecast for this week:
- Today: a mix of sun and clouds; rather breezy, very warm and humid this afternoon. High 89.
- Tonight: mostly cloudy, warm and humid; a strong thunderstorm around late can bring flash flooding and damaging winds. Low 71.
- Tomorrow: mostly cloudy, breezy, warm and humid with a shower or thunderstorm around. High 86.
- Thursday: a shower or thunderstorm in spots in the morning; otherwise, clouds breaking for some sunshine; not as warm and becoming less humid. High 78.
- Friday: sunshine mixing with clouds. High 80.
- Saturday: more clouds than sun. High 82.
The Mississippi River could reach near-historic levels in St. Louis over the next week as another round of thunderstorms are set to hit the area. U.S. Geological Survey data shows the river is projected to crest at 44 feet downtown, which is 14 feet above flood stage.

At that height, the river would surpass every flood in the city's hundreds of years of recorded history, except the Great Flood of 1993 when the Mississippi River reached 49.58 feet.
The Mississippi is expected to rise another two feet before cresting next week. It's not expected to drop below MAJOR flood stage for at least two weeks. We have the latest in @kmoxnews
