St. Louis, MO (KMOX) - Mental health advocates say its normal to feel anxious in the face of a global pandemic, but we don't have to feel helpless.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention says there are things you can do to keep the unknown from being overwhelming.
For one, experts say do what makes YOU feel safe. This will be different for everyone, and it's important not to compare yourself to others.
Also, counselors say it's important not to project too far into the future, but to stay in the present.
They encourage people to stay connected, even if you're not face to face.
And a walk outside can help with your mindset too -- exercise helps both your physical and mental health.
