Lenexa, KS (KMOX) - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has expanded its list of disinfectant products qualified for use against COVID-19.
The agency says the list has nearly 200 additional products. Some of those were included through an expedited review process.
It's important to note that the disinfectant products on the list have not been tested specifically against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19. The US EPA says they are expected to be effective because they have been tested on other viruses, some harder to kill than COVID-19.
The product list includes the active ingredient and the amount of time the surface should remain wet to be effective. It includes industrial and consumer brands, including familiar names such as Clorox and Lysol.
