Belleville table makers will raffle off 'Play Gloria' table to raise money for Laila Anderson
(KMOX) - A local charity, a Metro East table-maker and the Philadelphia bar that helped spark "Play Gloria" are teaming up to raise money for St. Louis Blues superfan Laila Anderson.
It starts a few of months ago, when Custom Bar Top Tables of Belleville made their first "Play Gloria" table The Jacks NYB, the bar in Philadelphia where the Blues got their victory anthem, for the start of the NHL playoffs. Then, for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, Custom Bar Top Tables co-owner Joe English says, they took a special table to Philly.
They had all the guys at Jacks sign the logo for the table and then they suggesting raffeling the table off and donating all proceeds to a charity of Laila's choice.
A couple of days ago Laila decided to donate the 53x38-inch table to St. Louis Youth Sports Outreach. Outreach founder Billy Mayhall tells KMOX they will put the proceeds into a college trust fund for Laila.
Details of the raffle are still being worked out.
