ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - All Elite Wrestling, a rival wrestling promotion to WWE, announced following their annual pay-per-view (PPV) event 'AEW Revolution' which was held in Greensboro, North Carolina Sunday night that the wrestling company's next PPV event 'AEW Dynasty' will take place in St. Louis on Sunday April, 21st at the Chafeitz Arena.
The PPV Event will be AEW fifth visit to St. Louis, with the company most recently visiting St. Louis in January for an episode of it's Saturday show 'AEW Collision'. AEW has had tapings of episodes for its shows 'Dark', 'AEW Rampage' and 'AEW Dynamite'.
The PPV event has been long overdue for the city of St. Louis. Originally, St. Louis was intended to get the promotion's 2021 Full Gear pay-per-view on Nov. 6 2021, but the scheduling of UFC 268 and a Canelo Alvarez boxing match that same weekend pushed Full Gear to move to Nov. 13 and led to AEW moving Full Gear from St. Louis to Minneapolis.
