ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - It's still not a given that we'll see the return of the St. Louis BattleHawks when the XFL resumes play in 2023.
Following social media hype by new league ownership over the past few days, no announcement of league cities nor team names were announced Wednesday.

Ownership said the XFL logo has been changed from blue-and-red to black-and-white, and that the "X" in the league's name represents the intersection of dreams and opportunity.
A video posted on XFL Social media does, though include photos of BattleHawks memories from the truncated inaugural season, a season in which St. Louis drew at the top in attendance before the league declared bankruptcy.
The XFL promotional package says the league will be based on four pillars: Co-creation, Inclusivity, Accessibility, and Innovation.
"We are proud to unveil the new identity of the XFL - a strong, dynamic and modern look that embodies our vision of pushing football forward and unleashing the dreams that football makes possible," said XFL chairwoman and co-owner Dany Garcia.
