ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Over the weekend, Billikens head coach Josh Schertz landed a major pickup for the Billikens, with now-former Indiana State center Robbie Avila, nicknamed Cream Abdul-Jabbar and others, announcing his plans to join Schertz at SLU next season over the weekend.

Now, Schertz is also bringing in another one of his former products at Indiana State, with the Billikens landing the commitment of Isaiah Swope, who announced his decision to join Schertz and Avila at SLU Monday morning.

Swope was one of the nation's top three-point shooters, drilling 113 3-pointers last year, which rank fourth in the NCAA, to go along with a .362 three-point percentage, which was top-70 in the country.

After transferring from Southern Illinois, Swope thrived under Schertz in what would be his only season with the Sycamores, averaging 15.9 points per game and shooting .433 field goal percentage, and earning All-Missouri Valley Conference second-team honours despite playing the majority of the year with a knee injury.

"The first thing that pops out to me with Isaiah is his toughness and courage," said Schertz in a statement. "What he did for our team at Indiana State last year was one of the most selfless and remarkable displays of those traits I have ever witnessed. His quickness and shooting are at elite levels, and he is one of the best scorers in all of college basketball. On top of that, he is a savage competitor and a winner. We are incredibly lucky to have a player and person the caliber of Isaiah Swope in our program."

Swope is the fourth player to join SLU, joining fellow teammate at Indiana State Robbie Avila to go along signees Amari McCottry and Max Pikaar. Swope along with returnee Gibson Jimerson, who is one of the Billikens all-time scorers in the program should make for a formidable backcourt pairing.
