5 times Blues fans fell in love with Bobby Plager all over again

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - It's tough to find just a few moment to sum up what someone meant to an organization and a city for 54 years. Bobby Plager, who has been part of the St. Louis Blues since he played for the inaugural Blues team in 1967, died on Wednesday at 78-years-old.

Here are a few moments with the Blues legend that remind us how special he was:

The "Hey buddy" video
Different versions of these videos began to played before certain games in the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs at Enterprise Center, with Plager and other Blues legends like Brett Hull, Bernie Federko and Kelly Chase. You can watch Plager's version here. The Blues also gave us a treat of Plager's outtakes while shooting the video:

Visiting Barclay's grave with Stanley Cup
Bobby knew right away what he wanted to do for his special day with the Stanley Cup, after the Blues won it for the first time franchise history in 2019. He took it to his brother's grave site and let Barclay have a drink from the cup:

Reaching the Stanley Cup Final meant so, so much to him
2019 was the first time in 49 years that the Blues made it to the Stanley Cup Final – Plager was a defenseman on the last Blues team to do it. And it really showed when we got to talk to him after the Game 6, series clinching of the Western Conference Final.

He complained about the refs just like us
Bobby was already a great guest on KMOX. Was always honest, genuine and incredibly entertaining. Especially in this interview talking about the differences in the game and officiating compared to when he played...

"What I have a hard time with now is the two referees out there, I never know what they're gonna call," Plager said. "Sometimes they call it and they will let some things play, then all the sudden they make a call and it drives me crazy."

He cried with all of us when his jersey was retired
There wasn't a dry eye in the house on Feb. 2, 2017, when the jersey of his brother, Barclay, was lowered to meet Bobby's jersey and rise together into the rafters.
