ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Blues announced Tuesday that forward Alexey Toropchenko has signed a one-year contract extension worth $1.7 million.

Toropchenko was set to enter restricted free agency at the end of the season. With Toropchenko signing the extension, it will give him a nice raise from the $1.2 million he is earning this season.

Toropchenko has been a very solid depth piece for the Blues over the last three seasons. Over the past two seasons, Toropchenko has notched double digits goal tallies, with Toropchenko posting a career-high 14 goals last season.

So far this season, Toropchenko, who has mostly played on the fourth line, is goalless this season through the seven games he has played this season, collecting only one assist so far and having served seven penalty minutes.

The extension of Toropechenko marks the second extension in as many weeks the Blues have done. Last week, the Blues signed forward Jake Neighbours to 2-year, $7.5 million contract extension in what essentially was a bridge deal for the Blues and Neighbours.
