ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Nolan Arenado is on fire and MLB pitchers should be terrified.

2024 is not been the smoothest of seasons for Arenado, with Arenado hitting an overall slash line of .271/.303/.434, with 14 home runs, and 60 RBIs. As of right now, Arenado's OPS+ of 103 would the second-lowest OPS+ he has posted in a full 162 season since posting an OPS+ of 81 back in his rookie year in 2013.

However, Arenado is seemingly coming back to form, with the star third-baseman having a red-hot August, posting a .315/.367/.507 slash line, smashing three home runs and collecting 15 RBIs.

Arenado red-hot August was highlighted in Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Milwaukee Brewers, where Arenado went three for five, and hit the walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning for the St. Louis Cardinals to seal the win.

"He's been better, there's no doubt about it," said Mike Claiborne, Cardinals broadcaster on The Chris and Amy Show Friday. "He had a big hit (Thursday) to drive in a run, so he's been much better."

"He's been warming up so to say and if (Cardinals) can get Paul Goldschmidt moving up in that direction, hear comes the Cardinals."

Claiborne, like many have throughout the entire 2024 season in Cardinals Nation, stressed the importance of Arenado and Goldschmidt becoming key bats in a Cardinals lineup that has, to be frank, struggled to find a good consistent run of form.

"The two corners guy are the keys to the ballclub and we have been saying it day in and day out since Spring Training and nothing has changed on that front," said Claiborne. "If we can get those guys moving, I think becomes contagious with everyone else on the ballclub and then at the point, you take your chances and see what happens."

"You just want to make sure you still have enough runway to make it come to reality."
