UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. (KMOX) - Saturday, March 26 marks the end of the line for a neighborhood fresh food provider that's been a fixture in University City for decades.
Owner Debbie Schneider tells KMOX News it's time to retire from the Long Acres Farm Produce Stand, "It's going to be sad, but it's going to be a positive thing, too. We've been here 50 years, and we want to thank all of our good customers. They've been very loyal."

Produce stand customer Paige Banet says she's going to miss her visits, "There's a lot more personal relationships with the people we buy our food from. In the summertime they grow the best tomatoes. You have these fresh tomatoes until frost."
The stand was in The University City Loop for 43 years, then moved to a little building on the parking lot of All Saints Grade School.
