Jim Carrey slammed as 'bully' for latest political artwork

Jim Carrey’s latest political artwork has landed him in some hot water.

The comedian’s painting on Twitter bids adieu to former First Lady Melania Trump following the inauguration.

"Oh... and goodbye worst first lady. I hope the settlement can finance your life in the shallow end. Thx for nothing,” the image reads.

But the Internet had mixed reactions.

"Jim carrey has an incredible eye for art. He truly captures her pure essence in this work. Masterpiece,” one user wrote in support of the post.

Others called the post “absolutely appalling” and an “attack” on the first lady who “who did her job with grace and dignity and got nothing but criticism from everyone on the left.”

Another chimed in asking Carrey to “make us laugh again” rather than “bully innocent women.”

The 59-year-old has not responded to any of the comments and criticisms.

However, he hasn’t shied away from tackling politics and the election having previously portrayed President Joe Biden on six episodes of “Saturday Night Live.” Maya Rudolph was tapped in for the role of Vice President Kamala Harris. Following his exit, Alex Moffat, an "SNL" cast member, took over Biden's role on future episodes.

In previous artwork, he painted former president Donald Trump as a “killer clown” claiming he wanted to “murder the truth and weaponize ignorance following the Capitol Riots.

His most recent artwork paid tribute to Larry King following his death and championed President Joe Biden as a “real president working for the benefit of the entire nation.”
