Wedding fashions have changed over the centuries, but it wasn't until the late 1800s that the white wedding dress became the norm. At the Campbell House Museum's "Tying the Knot: 150 Years of Wedding Fashions" exhibit, the dresses on display span from the 1860s to present day.
Hear Debbie Monterrey's interview with Campbell House executive director Andy Hahn:
One noticeable thing about the older dresses is how small they are.
"They were very tiny," says executive director Andy Hahn. "The smallest waist we've measured is 18-inches."
That posed some problems with displaying the dresses because standard dress forms and manikins were too large and had to be whittled down with a hack saw.
The wedding dress exhibit will be up through the end of 2023.
