ST. LOUIS (KMOX)- Two children have died in a Friday morning house fire in Defiance, Missouri, authorities said.
At 7:45 a.m. Friday Morning, St. Charles County Police Department dispatched to assist alongside fire units of the Cottleville Fire Department to a house fire with reports of an explosion at the house people still inside in the 2900 block of Highway 94 South in Defiance.
Firefighters arrived at the scene within five minutes but the house was already fully engulfed according to Cpl. Barry Bayles, a spokesperson with the St. Charles Police Department.
According to Kyle Gaines, a spokeperson for the St. Charles County Ambulance District, both were confirmed deceased on scene.
The Missouri State fire Marshall has been called in and an investigation is ongoing.
