This weekend the 25th annual Paint Louis festival was held near the Arch grounds. Artists came from all over to pain murals on the 1.9-mile flood wall just south of the Arch.
One of the Paint Louis founders, John Harrington, joined KMOX to talk about how the event went.
"Besides the rain went great. We had 400 artists from around the world come to St. Louis to do art on a two mile wall," Harrington said. "It was it was a good day, Cardinals played the Cubs, marathons down here at the Arch, all in the shadow of the arch. So I think it was a great weekend other than the weather."
Harrington explained what the draw is for artists from all over the world.
"It's always floated through to artist community worldwide that St. Louis is the place to be," he said. "The wall is 20 feet high, two miles long. So artists hear about it all over the world, and they want to come. It's kind of like a paint Mecca. If you got on Paint Louis with the greats, then you know you made it."
He said people came from Australia, Germany, the UK, South America, Japan, and more.
