"Police departments throughout the region, to include St. Peters, have been experiencing a rash of car thefts for many months now. Police agencies have used social media, city newsletters, and various media outlets to remind vehicle owners not to leave their vehicles running unattended, unlocked or key fobs inside of unattended/unlocked vehicles," police stated on Facebook. "As a general rule, majority of these crimes do not involve forced entry and almost 100% of the time the vehicles were running and/or the key fob was left inside the unlocked vehicle.
