ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis County Council holds a committee hearing on County Executive appointments. One of those, acting Health Director Dr. Faisal Khan.

Councilman Ernie Trakas recommended holding a closed session hearing before voting on Khan's confirmation. Trakas said, "there's been much discussion concerning the administration's investigation into the letter that Dr. Khan sent to the chair after his appearance here."
That appearance was in July where Khan alleged he was physically and verbally assaulted by attendees in the council chamber. County video never revealed a physical assault, but did capture Khan making an obscene hand gesture in the lobby of the County Council.
Last week, when asked about the investigation, County Executive Dr. Sam Page said he believed Khan was taunted, but that he verbally reprimanded Khan for the gesture. Page would not go into further detail, citing it was a personnel matter.
